Recap: “You know, I bet your reaction would have been different if you were going in there with me.” Kiba pushed you in the closet and closed the door. You stumbled but regained your balance. You were extremely confused. ’What the… Does that mean Kiba knows I like him? And does that mean he likes me or was he just teasing? Oh god… What do I do? What if he does like me? Gah! I’m confused! Oh my god! What if he does like me? What’s touching my waist…? What do I…? Wait what?’


“Uhh… Sasuke what are you doing?”
“Just shut up.”
“What? No! Just go a- “You were stopped mid sentence by Sasuke pressing his lips against yours. ‘Eek, what the hell?!’ You pulled away and slapped him across the face.
“WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT?!” you yelled at him in shock, you thought he hated you…
“Because.”
“BECAUSE WHY?” You took a few steps back and hit the wall.
“Because I like you and I know you like me too.”
“What?! No I don’t!” You were now in more shock. ‘Where did he get that idea from?’
“Come on Kisa-Chan…” You heard him walk over so he was standing in front of you again. You didn’t know what to do. No matter what he thought, you didn’t like him! You liked Kiba. ‘What do I do…?’ You felt his hand grab the front of your shirt; he was trying to pull you closer to him. You just did what came into your head first. You punched him. You sent him stumbling back and you heard a loud bang. You guessed you made him fall over.
“I DON’T LIKE YOU!”
“I know you do, stop denying it!”
“NO I DON’T! STAY AWAY FROM ME!” You slid down the wall and pulled your knees up to your chest and hugged them. ‘Why does he think I like him? Why…’ Sasuke didn’t try to come over to you again, so for the rest of the time you sat there in silence.
Finally, light spilled into the room. Someone had opened the door. You didn’t want to be in there with Sasuke any longer so you got up and ran out the door, and just avoided bumping into Naruto who was the one who opened it. But then, you collided with something else. You fell forwards, expecting to come face to face with Lee’s lounge room floor, but you didn’t. You landed on something soft. You opened your eyes and saw that you had landed on someone not something, and that someone just happened to be Kiba. ‘Crap…’ You blushed and quickly got off him and sat down on the ground. You had the feeling that everyone was looking at you. You hated it when everyone just stared at you. But the thing is, you were always doing things that made them look at you. You couldn’t help it! You looked down at the ground to hide how embarrassed you were.
“I’m so sorry Kiba-Kun! I…” You didn’t look at him but you heard Kiba sit up.
“Heh, its fine… But are you okay?”
“Oh umm, I’m fine…” You mumbled. You still didn’t lift your head to look at him.
“I don’t believe you.”
“Kiba-Kun…”
“What did Sasuke do?” You forced a smile onto your lips and looked up at Kiba.
“Oh nothing much, really! I’m fine!” You tried to sound as cheerful as you usually were, but you were pretty sure Kiba saw right through it. He just looked at you. Kiba opened his mouth and looked like he was going to say something but he didn’t get the chance to. Before he knew it he was being dragged into the closet by the hood of his jacket. Ino pulled him in and closed the door. Before she closed it you were sure you heard her mumble something along the lines of ‘Damn it, we might as well just get this over and done with…’ After she had closed the door you stood up and decided to walk over to Naruto.
“Seriously, what happened? Sasuke just grabbed his bag and left.” Naruto asked with a sort of concerned look on his face.
“He did? And why should I be serious? You never are!” You laughed and Naruto just pulled a face at you, which made you laugh more.
“Oh and as for what happened in there, I Uhh... I really don’t want to talk about it. I just want to forget.” You smiled a real smile at him, which made his grin even wider. ‘Naruto may act stupid at times but he really knows how to make someone feel better.’ You thought to yourself. ‘With Sasuke gone I think I will just forget it for now and enjoy the party. I wouldn’t want that self-centered bum to ruin the party for me now would I?’ You decided to change the topic. You looked around the room to find something to talk about.
“Anyway Naruto-Chan, what do you think of Temari-San?”
“She’s okay I guess… But Shikamaru-Kun has been looking at her a lot since she arrived. I don’t know why though.”
“Naruto-Chan! You are so naive when it comes to these things! He’s probably looking at her because he likes her!”
“Who likes who Kisa-Chan?”
“AHH! Lazy-Chan! I umm didn’t know you were there!” You said sheepishly, looking up at him.
“Who likes who?”
“Uh… Lee-Kun likes Sakura-San?”
“Oh is that all? Anyway, what did Kiba say to you before he closed the closet door?”
“What makes you think he said something to me?”
“He said something to her?” Naruto asked looking from you to Shikamaru then over at the closet.
“Yes he did; and I know because I saw it…”
“Oh… you did?”
“What did he say?! What did he say?! What did he say?!” Naruto basically yelled while jumping up and down waving his hands in the air. You just flicked him on the forehead.
“Be quiet you idiot” You hissed at him.
“Don’t flick me!”
“Be quiet or I won’t tell you!” He stopped talking and jumping instantly. ‘Crap, now I really have to tell them…’
“So…?”
“He uhh… wished me luck, that’s all!” Shikamaru, who was taller than you, leant down so your eyes were at the same level.
“You’re lying. What did he really say?”
“I’m not!”
“Yes you are!”
“Not!”
“I have known you for ages, I can tell when you’re lying. Plus you’re not very good at it…”
“But Lazy-Chaaan, its private!”
“So?”
“Whaa? That means I shouldn’t have to tell you!”
“But you’re going to anyway aren’t you?”
“I am?”
“Yes.”
“And why would I do that?”
“Because if you don’t I’ll tell Shino to attack you with his bugs.”
“Lazy-Chan that’s so unfair! You know I don’t like bugs!”
“Exactly”
“Lazy-Chan… Wait where are you going?!”
“To go get Shino”
“WAIT! I’LL TELL YOU! COME BACK!”
“Okay. Soo…?” Shikamaru walked back over to you and got back down to your eye level.
“Sigh… Damn you Lazy-Chan, he umm…. He said that he bets my reaction would have been different if I was going in the closet with him; AND STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!!” Shikamaru stood up straight but kept looking at you.
“So that’s what he said was it?”
“Yes… Lazy-Chan what do you think he means?! Do you think he likes me?” You asked looking up at him, slightly blushing when you said the last part.
“I think that… You will have to work it out for yourself.”
“Lazy-Chan! You know something don’t you!”
“Kisa-Chan, your blushing… do you like Kiba-Kun or something? You were sort of surprised by Naruto’s question; you had thought he had always known you did. ‘He really is naive’
“Umm.. Maybe” You smiled at Naruto’s confused expression.
“She does.”
“Eek! Lazy-Chan don’t say that!”
“You like flea boy? Wow…”
“Don’t call him that! And if you say anything to him I swear I will kill you!”
“Aww Kisa-Chan… are you going to ask him out?”
“Who are you going to ask out Kisa-San?”
“Ahh!” You turned around slowly.
“Kiba! I um… didn’t know your time was up yet! What happened in there?”
“Yeah, Neji and Ten-ten just went in. I’m not going to tell you what happened until you tell me what happened with you and Sasuke.” Kiba teased.
“But!” You really wanted to know but you didn’t really want to tell Kiba that Sasuke kissed you… ‘Oh well, I spose I’ll tell anyway…’
“I really just wanted to forget but oh well… when we got in there I was thinking about… uh… something and I felt him touch my waist and I asked him what he was doing and then he kissed me and I pulled away and slapped him and yelled at him then he grabbed my shirt so I punched him and he stumbled backwards and I think fell over. So I sat in the corner. And when the door opened I ran into you. That’s about all.” You explained it really fast hoping they wouldn’t understand a word of what you said.
“He did what?!” Both Kiba and Shikamaru said with looks of disbelief on their faces. ‘I guess I didn’t talk quick enough…’ You looked at Naruto who was just looking at you with a confused look on his face again.
“Uh can say that again? I couldn’t understand a word you said. You were going to fast!” You smiled at him.
“Nope, sorry Naruto-Chan”
“I can’t believe he did that…”
“Well he did! Now what did you and Ino do?!”
“Oh right, nothing really. I just sat there while she was muttering to herself about you and Sasuke. It was quite funny actually.”
“Really? Okay.” You smiled. ‘Thank god! They didn’t do anything!’
“So Kisa-San… Why do you seem so relieved that me and Ino didn’t do anything eh?”
“Wha? I um… Uh…” ‘Oh crap he’s on to me’
“…”
“Times up! Who wants to open the door?” Lee called out, looking around the room.
“I will!” Both you and Naruto called out at the same time.
“No I will” You got up and started to run to the door”
“Nuh-uh!” Naruto got up and chased after you. Naruto was faster than you so he naturally beat you to the door. When you reached the closet Naruto’s hand was on the handle and he was about to open it. You pushed him lightly. Just enough to move him out of the way. Not enough to push him over or hurt him. But Naruto being his normal self stumbled backwards and tripped over his own feet and landed on the ground. You looked down at him and smiled. You then turned the handle and opened the door.
‘Wow... Why must Kiba ask questions like that! Geez... Talk about awkward!’
Coming out of your thoughts you see Ten-ten holding Neji’s hand and they were both slightly blushing.
“Aww, so cute!”
“Kisa… Shut up…” Neji replied quite coldly.
“You’re not very nice to me!”
“Hmph.” Neji walked away and sat down with Ten-ten following him.
“Lee-Kun and Hinata-San it’s your turn!” You yelled out. You ran over to Lee and grabbed his watch.
“I’ll time, now go have fun!”
They both walked into the closet and you closed the door and started to time.
You were going to go back to Naruto and Shikamaru to talk but you realized Kiba was still with them so you decided not to. ‘It’ll just be… Awkward…Well for me anyway.” You walked over to the food table and grabbed a small handful of chips and leant against the wall next to the table.
As you ate the chips, you kept looking over in Kiba’s direction. Your mind wondered…
‘Hmm… Maybe he is stupid… I mean he hasn’t noticed that I like him, I do try to hide it but it doesn’t work very well. I can’t stop myself from getting so flustered when he’s around! It’s quite annoying. Maybe he has noticed… But doesn’t like me in that way… Probably, like I ever really had a chance.’ You sighed and decided to go over to Naruto, Shikamaru and Kiba to talk anyway. It was too boring standing there alone and you hated thinking like that, you just couldn’t help it!
You started to walk over to them and was about to say hello again but Lee’s watch alarm went off.
“Great timing…” you muttered to yourself sarcastically.
“Sigh… Who wants to open the door?”
“I will!” Naruto raced over to the door and opened it before you could stop him.
Hinata and Lee walked out of the closet and when Hinata saw Naruto smiling at her she blushed and nearly fainted.
“N... Naruto-Kun…” She walked away and sat down. Lee came over to you and asked for his watch and you gave it to him.
“Temari-San and Shikamaru-Kun it’s your turn!” Lee shouted out to them.
“Troublesome…”
“Don’t say that Lazy-Chan!” You grabbed Shikamaru’s arm and pulled him in. He didn’t seem to protest. Temari walked in by herself after him. You walked out and closed the door. ‘Hmmm what to do now...' You looked around the room and you were about to start walking back over to Naruto when you felt some ones hand on your shoulder.
“Uhh Hello?” You knew it was Kiba, you didn’t know how you knew… you just did.
“Kiba-Kun I know it’s you…”
“What?! How?” You turned around to face him.
“I dunno. I just did.”
“Yeah… Well anyway… What was with falling off Shikamaru’s back earlier?”
“I don’t know! It’s not like I planned it or anything! You… ask annoying questions, you know?” You don’t know what made you snap like that, hopefully Kiba would just dismiss it.
“Well at least I didn’t make myself look stupid in front of anyone by falling off my best friends back!” He wasn’t smiling, it wasn’t a joke and it hurt. 'Why…?'
“What? Why must you be so mean Kiba?!” She asked, holding back the tears that were building up.
“Kisa! You are so damned oblivious!” He turned away from you. He wasn’t acting like himself at all.
“What do you mean Kiba?”
“Geez.. Never mind.” You could tell he was getting irritated, but why?
“Why?! What did you mean?!”
“I said never mind!” he started to walk away and you didn’t know what to do.
“Kiba, you are really impossible sometimes!” You whispered. You knew he heard you because he stopped walking but you didn’t care. You ran out into Lee’s hallway and slid down the wall; not holding the tears back now.
“I’m oblivious? Really? What about him! How dare he… How could he… I knew I never had a chance… But why so sudden! He was nice to me before! So why? Why must life be so cruel! I can’t stand this! I think I’ll go. I really don’t want to see him again tonight. Damn him. Damn his stupid attitude. I was wrong to admire him. First impressions must be right.’[1]
You stood up and slowly walked into the lounge and looked through the pile of bags to find yours, wiping away your tears. You couldn’t find your bag… ‘What where is it? Geez... Just great. Looks like I won’t be going anywhere at the moment.’ You sighed and looked around the room to see where Kiba was. He wasn’t there. ‘Maybe he went home…’ You looked over at the bags again. ‘Nope, that’s his bag there. The grey one with a picture of a white dog on it.’ You sighed again and looked around. ‘Wow it’s already two in the morning! I wonder if we can sleep soon…’
“Times up for Shikamaru-Kun and Temari-San! I’ll open the door!” Lee called out yet again. Interested you walked over and stood behind Lee to see what was happening. Lee opened the door and-
“OH MY GOD! MY EYES!” You covered your eyes and turned around.
“Uhh.. Kisa, they’re just kissing…”
“Yeah but Shino-Kun it’s strange to see your best friend who is like your older brother kissing someone! It just looks… Uhh strange!”
“Kisa-Chan, you are so immature sometimes…”
“What do you mean I’m immature sometimes Lazy-Chan?! I’m totally immature all the time! Or have you been lying to me my whole entire life?!”
“You do have a point…”
“Yup!” Shikamaru got up and then helped Temari up who had just been blushing madly the whole time. Hand in hand they walked over to the couch and sat down.
“Lee-Kun I’m really really tired! Can we sleep now?!” You whined.
“Haha yes I was just going to suggest going to sleep now anyway. Yeah you guys can go get changed now.”
Everyone went over to their bags and you did too. You hoped that it was magically there but your hopes weren’t that high. ‘What the… I swear it wasn’t there before! Oh well…’ You grabbed your bag and went into the bathroom to change.
“So where are you putting your sleeping bag Kisa-Chan?”
“I dunno Lazy-Chan, maybe next to you or Naruto-Chan?”
“Pick Naruto, I’m sleeping next to Temari-Chan.”
“Are you going to ditch me for her now?”
“For now yes.”
“What?!”
“Well she has to go back to her village in two days so I want to spend as much time with her as possible.”
“Ohhh… Right, I get it. You’re too mature you know!? Kissing is for old people!”
“Old people?”
“Yeah you know… Older people…”
“Whatever you say Kisa-Chan…”
“I’m going to find Naruto-Chan!” You looked around to find Naruto, you saw him over in the corner talking to Sakura. In the other corner was… Kiba. You were sure he was looking at you but if he was he looked away when you turned in his direction. You walked over to Naruto thinking that Kiba had serious problems.
“Naruto-Chan I’m sleeping next to you!”
“You are?”
“Yup!”
“Okay! Well I’m sleeping here so put you’re sleeping bag where ever.” You smiled and started to roll out your sleeping bag.
“Naruto are you seriously going to wear that hat to bed here?”
“Yes… What’s wrong with it?!”
“Oh… Nothing…”
“I’m turning the lights off now. Is that okay with everyone?”
Everyone agreed so Lee flicked the light switch and went to his own sleeping bag which was near Ino for some strange reason.
“Good Night everyone!” You called out. Nearly everyone replied, well actually everyone except for Kiba.
You couldn’t sleep. You were just thinking about Kiba and what he said. You decided to get up and get a drink. Wriggling out of your sleeping bag you felt around for the wall and tried not to step on people. You made it to the hallway and then to the kitchen. You found the light switch and turned it on. After your eyes had adjusted to the light you went over and grabbed a glass. You turned on the tap and got a drink of water for yourself. You sat down on the bench and took a sip of your drink. ‘Sigh’ you heard footsteps coming from the hall. ‘Great… I really wanted some alone time…’
“Kisa what are you doing here?”
“Geez... What does it look like I’m doing? I’m getting a drink. But I’m finished now so I’ll be going.”
You had only taken about two sips out of your glass but it didn’t matter. You really didn’t want to be in the room with Kiba. You got down from the bench and tipped the remaining water down the sink. Kiba was just staring at you the whole time. You started to make your way to the door when Kiba said your name. You didn’t turn around because you didn’t want him to see the tears forming in your eyes.
“What do you want?!”
“Your crying.”
“What? No I’m not!” You wiped your eyes and walked out of the kitchen.

Back at your sleeping bag you still couldn’t sleep, you tossed and turned trying not to wake anyone up. As far as you could tell Kiba still hadn’t come back.
“This is stupid” You murmured to yourself, getting up yet again. You walked to the front door and opened it, realizing that it was rather cold out there you grabbed Naruto’s jacket and stepped out. You knew there was a park around here somewhere and so you searched for it. Soon enough you were sitting on a swing, tears falling freely from your eyes.
When you heard noises coming from the bushes you tensed and wiped your face with Naruto’s jacket sleeve. Someone’s shadow appeared, and even though you couldn’t see him, you knew it was Kiba again. He sat on the swing next to you in silence.
“You know, you’ll catch a cold if you stay out here dressed like that!”He looked at you and smiled.
“Why would you care?” You didn’t look at him, you couldn’t handle it.
“Kisa…” You could hear the hurt in his voice now.
“Kiba… Just don’t." You hopped off the swing and walked away, he didn’t try to stop you. You walked out of the swings area and onto the grass. You picked up your pace but didn’t get very far. Tripping over a small rock you fell onto your knees and broke down. It didn’t hurt but you were crying uncontrollably. Kiba rushed to your side and gently placed his hand on your shoulder.
“Kisa… I.. I’m... S…” He couldn’t say it, he didn’t know why. So he lifted up your head and looked into your eyes. Moving closer your eyes widened. Your lips met in a short but passionate kiss. As you pulled apart he wiped the tears from your eyes and picked you up.
“I can still walk you know.” You looked up at him and smiled.
“I know.” As he carried you towards Lee’s house you finally fell asleep.
